Master Stephen Co specially shared with us about the story of monkey. Many old stories are iconic, what is the iconic part of this story?
中國最出名的猴子可說是西遊記中的孫悟空了。他擁有不平凡的能力，筋斗雲飛越十萬八千里。他十分自我，想當天帝，最後被釋迦牟尼佛壓於五指山。五百年後，被派去保護唐僧取西經。
The most famous monkey in China should be Sun Wu Kong in the Chinese classical novel "Journey to the West". Sun Wu Kong is the Monkey king, with marvelous power who can fly over thousands miles away in a short time. He has big ego and wants to be the King of heaven. Finally Lord Buddha sealed him in the mountain. After five hundreds years, he was assigned to protect Chinese monk to get the Buddhist utras from India to China.
這個故事對我們spiritual development 又有什麼隱喻呢？孫悟空代表我們的incarnated soul, 容易因自己的能力變得過份自豪。被派往取西經代表spiritual task, 讓我們籍此修練。緊箍咒就像spiritual cord, 當行為不正時，它就會縮小了。
Many old stories are iconic, what is the iconic part of this story for our spiritual development? Sun Wu Kong represents our incarnated soul, who is easily be over-pride by our own ability. Being sent to West with Chinese monk is like our assigned spiritual task, to let us train ourselves during the process. Xuanzang, the magical headband is like the spiritual cord, if misbehavior occurs, it would shrink.
